In a previous article, we wrote that we had solved the mysterious light…
When we added objects and materials to another scene for the trailer shoot and went back, some of the materials were brighter.
We thought we had changed the global lighting settings by mistake, so we tried redoing the work from a normal backup, but the problem reappeared.
This phenomenon has nothing to do with environmental light/reflections. There are differences depending on the material, but the brightness changes depending on the metallic settings and occlusion settings.
Including this incident, there are many cases where we do not have an accurate understanding of lighting-related matters, and we have no choice but to fix it by matching the actual item.
